Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you might be wondering about gentle, responsive sleep support, answered honestly.

Do you use cry-it-out methods?

No. My approach is gentle, responsive, and rooted in attachment. I will never ask you to leave your child to cry in a way that doesn't feel right for you. Every recommendation is designed to support your child while protecting the connection and trust you have built with them.

What ages do you work with?

I support babies, toddlers, and children from birth, tailoring everything to your child's developmental stage, temperament, and individual needs.

How quickly will this work?

Every child is different, and I'll always be honest with you about that. Some families notice changes within the first few days; others take a more gradual approach over several weeks. My focus is always on sustainable, long-term improvements rather than quick fixes that don't last.

What if progress feels slow or things aren't working?

This is completely normal and nothing to worry about. Sleep change is rarely linear, there will be better nights and harder nights, and that's part of the process. For families in the Calm Nights Reset and Restful Family Transformation packages, we work through this together in real time via WhatsApp and follow-up calls, adjusting the plan as your child progresses. If you have any concerns at any point, please reach out, you won't be left to figure things out alone.

What if my child is very unsettled or wakes frequently?

You're not alone, and this is exactly what I support with. We'll take a thorough, holistic look at everything that may be influencing sleep, your child's development, temperament, feeding, environment, and family circumstances, and create a plan that feels manageable, responsive, and right for your family.

I feel exhausted and overwhelmed — will this be too much?

No. My approach is designed to reduce overwhelm, not add to it. Everything is broken down into gentle, manageable steps, and you'll never be expected to do everything at once. Whatever package you choose, I'll guide you at a pace that feels achievable, and you'll always have a clear next step rather than a long list of things to do.

What is the sleep diary and what does it involve?

The sleep diary is a straightforward questionnaire that I send to you once you've booked any paid package. It covers your child's current sleep patterns, health, feeding, temperament, daily routine, and your own goals, alongside a simple 7-day daily tracker where you note sleep times, feeds, and how things are going. It takes around 20–30 minutes to complete over the course of a week, and the information you share means your consultation or written review can be deeply personalised from the very start. There are no right or wrong answers, just note what's really happening, even if it feels messy.

What is the Written Sleep Review — is it as good as a consultation?

The Written Sleep Review is a different kind of support, not a lesser one. Rather than a live conversation, you complete a sleep diary and I respond with a thorough, personalised written assessment, my observations, key themes I've identified, and gentle recommendations tailored to your child and family. It's ideal for parents who prefer to read and absorb information in their own time, or who aren't quite ready for a call. If your situation turns out to be more complex than a written review can fully address, I'll always let you know honestly and suggest the most appropriate next step.

What does WhatsApp support involve?

WhatsApp support is included in the Calm Nights Reset and Restful Family Transformation packages. It's available Monday to Friday, and I respond to messages within 24 hours on working days. It's text-based, and it's there for questions, updates, reassurance, and real-time adjustments to your plan as your child progresses. You don't need to save things up for your follow-up call, if something comes up, just message me. The boundary of Monday to Friday means you always receive a considered, thoughtful reply rather than a rushed response.

What if I'm not sure which package I need?

If you're unsure, the Free Sleep Support Discovery Call is the perfect starting point, it's complimentary, there's no commitment, and you'll leave with clarity about which option feels right for your family. If you'd prefer written guidance at your own pace, the Written Sleep Review is a gentle first step. And if you're ready for a full consultation and personalised plan, the Sleep Clarity Call is the best place to begin.

Do you work with families who have tried other sleep approaches before?

Yes, absolutely. Many families come to me having already tried various approaches, some that didn't feel right, some that simply didn't work, and some that helped for a while before things shifted again. Whatever your history, I'll never judge previous decisions. We start from where you are now, and we build from there.

Do you work with families who are breastfeeding?

Yes, absolutely, and I want to be clear that working with me will never mean being told to stop breastfeeding or to drop night feeds before you or your child are ready. Breastfeeding is a valid and wonderful way to comfort and nourish your child, and any plan we create together will work alongside your feeding relationship, not against it. If reducing overnight feeds is something you'd like to work towards, we'll explore that gently and at a pace that feels right for both you and your child. If it isn't, we simply won't go there.

Are you medically qualified?

I'm a Level 6 OCN Accredited Child Sleep Practitioner, one of the highest levels of professional training available in the UK for sleep consultants. My training covers child sleep science, attachment theory, feeding and nutrition, child development, reflux and digestive health, neurodiversity, sensory needs, and safeguarding. I am not a medical professional, and the support I offer is educational and informational in nature. If you have concerns about your child's health, development, or wellbeing, I'll always encourage you to speak with your GP, health visitor, or paediatrician alongside any sleep support.
